Head to Head

Angola defeated Comoros 3-1 at the 2022 COSAFA Cup.

Stade de Marrakech in Morocco is the venue for this fixture.

Comoros Form

Comoros made light work of Uganda this past weekend, thrashing their opponents 4-0.

Comoros scored their first of four unanswered goals in the 7th minute of the match, doubling their tally a minute late, grabbing their third after 56 minutes of play and their fourth ten minutes later to complete the rout.

Before that emphatic win, Comoros drew 1-1 against Zambia at home and defeated Cape Verde 2-1 away from home before playing two FIFA World Cup qualifiers, beating the Central African Republic 4-2 and Ghana 1-0 at home.

The Coelacanths have recorded four victories in their last five fixtures, including one draw. They have scored 12 goals and conceded four.

Comoros have hit a purple patch in recent outings, notching up four wins on the trot and will fancy their chances against an Angolan team that has lost two games in a row.

Comoros Team News & Injuries

Angola Form

Angola recorded back-to-back losses when they came up short against Morocco this past weekend, losing by a goal to nil.

Morocco dominated proceedings against Angola, who kept the home side at bay during the first stanza.

Angola continued to frustrate their opponents during the second half before one of their players scored an own goal in the 72nd minute of the match.

Before that, Angola was in great touch at the AFCON finals. They drew 1-1 against Algeria, defeated Mauritania 3-1, Burkina Faso 2-0, and Nambia 3-0 in the round of 16 before they lost 1-0 against Nigeria in the quarter-finals.

Palancas Negras have won three of their last five matches, including two defeats. They scored eight goals and let in four at the back.

Angola must rediscover the form they showed at the recent Africa Cup of Nations to return to winning ways; however, their opponents have found form lately and are scoring goals.

Angola Team News & Injuries

Head coach Pedro Goncalves could change his lineup against Comoros after their loss to Morocco.

Goalkeepers: Neblu, Langanga, Antonio Dominique
Defenders: To Carneiro, Eddie Afonso, David Carmo, Jonas Ramalho, Jonathan Buatu, Nurio Fortuna, Kialonda Gaspar
Midfielders: Domingos Andrade, Maestro, Marcos Silva, Show, Megue, Estrela
Forwards: Mabululu, Gilberto, Milson, Chico Banza, Eliot Simoes, Jeremi Bela, Depu, Miro

Verdict

Comoros have been in great shape lately and is tipped to continue that excellent form with a BTTS victory over Angola and a 2-1 score at the final whistle.
