Head to Head

DR Congo Form

The DR Congo recorded a narrow 1-0 victory against Mali midweek, extending their winning streak to three consecutive matches.

Before that, the Democratic Republic of Congo played two FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March. They edged South Sudan 1-0 at home and beat Mauritania 2-0 away.

The Leopards of the DR Congo contested six AFCON qualifiers between September and November last year. They defeated Guinea 1-0 at home, Ethiopia 2-0 away, Tanzania 1-0 at home and 2-0 away before losing 1-0 to Guinea away and 2-1 to Ethiopia at home.

The DR Congo have won three of their last five fixtures, including two losses. They scored five goals and conceded three.

The DR Congo have been playing well this year, often winning, giving them the advantage over a Madagascar side struggling with form.

Madagascar Form

Madagascar contested two FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March, thrashing the Central African Republic 4-1 before losing 3-0 to Ghana.

Before those results, Madagascar lost 1-0 to Tunisia, drew 1-1 against Comoros, and 1-1 against the Gambia before losing 1-0 to the Gambia, 3-2 to Tunisia, and 1-0 to Comoros in six AFCON qualifiers played towards the end of last year.

Bareas have lost four of their last five fixtures, including one win. They scored six goals and conceded nine.

Madagascar needs to strengthen their defence to have a chance of winning against DR Congo after conceding goals frequently in recent matches.
