Mexico come into this weekend’s friendly fixture looking for a big improvement on their last display. Jaime Lozano’s side suffered a painful 4-0 friendly defeat against Uruguay on Thursday.

El Tri have struggled to find much consistent form over the past 12 months. Mexico lost four of their last seven internationals, while they failed to win seven of their last 11 matches played since last summer.

The Mexicans have fared little better in recent matches against Brazil, with no goals scored in their last four meetings since 2013 (D1, L3).

Brazil arrive in the USA unbeaten in their last two matches, after a successful trip to Europe in March. After a 1-0 win against England at Wembley, the Seleção showed their powers of recovery to claim a hard-fought 3-3 draw against Spain.

A miserable end to 2023 saw Brazil pick up just one point from four World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela, Uruguay, Colombia and Argentina.

The Seleção have an excellent record in away friendlies, with victories recorded in 10 of their last 12 road games since 2018.
