Head to Head

Ghana have the advantage with seven wins to three against Uganda, including five draws in 15 meetings.

The Marrakesh Stadium in Morocco is the venue for this fixture.

Uganda Form

Uganda were on the receiving end of a heavy defeat when they got thrashed 4-0 by Comoros last weekend.

Uganda had no answer against their opponents, conceding in the seventh minute of the contest and again a minute later.

Ugandas' lacklustre performance against Comoros continued in the second stanza, who grabbed their third goal after 56 minutes of play and their fourth 11 minutes later to seal the victory.

Before that poor performance, Uganda had lost 3-0 against Zambia, 2-1 against Guinea and edged Somalia 1-0 in two FIFA World Cup qualifiers away from home before they defeated Kuwait 2-0 away in a friendly.

The Cranes have won two of their last five matches, including three losses. They have scored four goals and conceded nine.

Uganda will be licking their wounds after their heavy loss, but they must put that result behind them quickly and produce a solid defensive display to come out on top against Ghana.

Uganda Team News & Injuries

Head coach Paul Put could change his starting XI after their disappointing effort against Comoros this past weekend.

Goalkeepers: Tom Ikara, Jack Komakech, Giousue Bellagambi
Defenders: Kenneth Semakula, Elvis Bwomono, Bevis Mugabi, Toby Sibbick, Halidi Lwaliwa, Timothy Awany, Nicholas Mwere, Denis Kaka Omony
Midfielders: Allan Kyambadde, Ronald Ssekiganda, Bobosi Byaruhanga, Moses Opondo, Travis Mutyaba, Ashraf Mugume
Forwards: Milton Karisa, Denis Omedi, Rogers Kassim Mato, Moses Aliro Okabo, Steven Dese Mukwala, Muhammad Shaban, Fahad Bayo, Carl James Mujaguzi, Shafik Kakande

Ghana Form

Ghana extended their run without a victory to six matches when they were defeated 2-1 against Nigeria last weekend.

Ghana conceded a penalty towards the end of the first half, which was slotted home by Nigeria in the 38th minute of the match.

Ghana did not start well in the second half when a player was sent off at the 56-minute mark, handing the numerical advantage to the Super Eagles.

The Black Stars conceded for the second time after 84 minutes of play before they pulled a goal back in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

Before that result, Ghana did not enjoy a successful Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast, losing 2-1 to Cape Verde, drawing 2-2 against Egypt and 2-2 against Mozambique.

The Black Stars have drawn three of their last five fixtures, including two defeats. They scored six goals and conceded nine.

Ghana have been misfiring lately and have conceded seven goals in their last four games, but they have a solid record against Uganda, who got hammered in their previous match.

Ghana Team News & Injuries

Head coach Otto Addo praised his players for their second-half performance against Nigeria after being reduced to ten men.

Jerome Opoku received a red card in the second half against Nigeria and will serve a suspension.

Jordan Ayew scored the late penalty against Nigeria.

Goalkeepers: Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Joseph Wollacott, Fredrick Asare, David Akologo

Defenders: Alidu Seidu, Tariq Lamptey, Patrick Kpozo, Denis Odoi, Daniel Amartey, Nathaniel Adieie, Mohammed Salisu, Alexander Djiku, Nicholas Opoku, Gideon Mensah

Midfielders: Mohammed Diamande, Samed Abdul Salis, Baba Iddissu, Andre Ayew, Elisha Owusu, Edmund Addo, Mohammed Kudus

Forwards:  Antoine Semenyo, Jordan Ayew, Ernest Nuamah, Osman Bukari, Ibrahim Osman, Fatawu Issahaku

Verdict

Uganda and Ghana have been in poor form coming into this international friendly; however, Ghana have been playing better opposition lately and is tipped to win with BTTS and a 2-1 score.
