Borussia Mönchengladbach vs Wolfsburg

Gladbach have properly woken up under Polanski – 13 points from their last five league games and six wins in their last eight matches in all competitions on 16 points, while Wolfsburg are 15th with 12 and have lost seven of their last 10 Bundesliga matches, despite that 3–1 home win over Union Berlin.

Based on recent form this looks like a ‘both teams to score game’, with Borussia more likely to take the home win.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Augsburg

Frankfurt are 7th and are absolute chaos merchants: 57 goals (for and against) in 13 league matches, with a wild 4–3 win at Köln and a 0–6 hammering at Leipzig in the mix.

Augsburg sit 14th and are conceding two goals a game, but did just beat Bayer Leverkusen 2–0 at home after a heavy 3-0 away loss at Hoffenheim – classic inconsistency. Should be a goal bonanza, with Frankfurt to take the points.

St. Pauli vs Heidenheim

This is a pure relegation six-pointer: St Pauli are 17th on 8 points, Heidenheim 16th on 11. St Pauli finally stopped a nine-game losing streak with that last-gasp 1–1 draw at Köln, but it’s still four defeats in five league games.

Heidenheim arrive in slightly better shape with recent 2–1 wins over Union Berlin and Freiburg, even if those were preceded by heavy losses to Leverkusen and Gladbach. It’s looking like a tight, nervy, low-scoring game.

Bayer Leverkusen vs FC Köln

Leverkusen are 4th, Köln 8th, but Bayer come in off a 2–0 league loss to Augsburg and that draining 2–2 Champions League draw with Newcastle, where Grimaldo rescued them late. Köln have impressed as newly-returned top-flighters, sitting in the top half, but are winless in four (two losses, followed by draws with Werder Bremen and St Pauli).

Both sides have been raking in their share of goals this season, so we should see plenty in his clash.
