Guinea qualified for the Africa Nations Championship with a win over Guinea-Bissau over two legs. They won 4-1 at home and 2-1 away.

That form has been carried forward with some decent results in March and July. They also won their opening CHAN game, defeating Niger 1-0 on Monday.

In a tightly fought contest, Guinea scored the winner through Mohamed Bangoura in the 47th minute.

Uganda Form

Uganda defeated Burundi 1-0 both home and away to secure their spot at CHAN.

Since that two-leg tie, Uganda have lost 3-1 to Mozambique and beaten Guinea 1-0 at home – both in World Cup qualifiers. That was followed by a 3-0 friendly loss to Cameroon and a 1-1 draw against Gambia.

Uganda lost to Tanzania in July while they beat Senegal a few days later. They have a mountain to climb after losing their first CHAN match 3-0 to Algeria on Monday.
