Cape Town City vs Bloemfontein Celtic Predictions & Tips - Hosts to extend Celtic’s struggles

Cape Town City are having a free scoring season under Jan Olde Riekerink and will expect to beat a struggling Bloemfontein Celtic team. I am tipping a home win.

Cape Town City have a 9-7 advantage in 23 matches against Bloemfontein Celtic. Seven matches have ended in draws.

Their last meeting was in November in the PSL as Cape Town City won 4-2 at home. 

Cape Town City made a fine start to the season with four wins and three draws in their opening eight matches but have been inconsistent since then. The team sits 6th in the Premier Soccer League after scoring the most goals in the division thus far.

A poor start to 2021 saw them lose 3-2 at Swallows, draw 2-2 at TTM after leading 2-0 and then lost 2-1 at home to Kaizer Chiefs after dominating the second half.

Jan Olde Riekerink’s team are back to their best of late. They won 2-0 at Black Leopards then handed Golden Arrows their first defeat of the season. In their last match, City drew 1-1 at Baroka after conceding a late own goal.

City have a small squad but are dealing well with injuries. In defence, both Abbubaker Mobara and Edmilson Dove have missed the most recent matches.Keanu Cupido and Terrence Mashego have acted as cover.

Thami Mkhize made his comeback from injury as a substitute at right-back in the last match and should start this one. Winger Aubrey Ngoma is still injured and is yet to play since re-joining the club on loan.

Siwelele are in poor form at the moment. They have just one win in their last ten matches. 

A 2-1 away defeat to SuperSport United was followed by a 1-1 home draw against Stellenbosch. An impressive 0-0 at Mamelodi Sundowns followed before a 3-0 loss in Nigeria to Rivers United.

They ended an eight match winless run with a 1-0 victory at home against TTM. Celtic's last match saw them lose 4-3 in injury time at AmaZulu.

Bloemfontein Celtic will again be without wingback Ronald Pfumbidzai due to suspension. Key striker and captain Ndumiso Mabena is expected to be absent due to injury. 

Jackson Mabokgwane is injured in goal and Menzi Masuku is just back from a knock and could start on the wing.

Victor Letsoalo scored off the bench in the last match and should start this one up front in preference to Motebang Sera.
