Bloemfontein Celtic vs SuperSport United Predictions & Tips - SuperSport to pile misery on struggling Celtic

Celtic are in terrible form right now and are leaking goals whilst SuperSport are free-scoring and flying high in the Premier Soccer League. I am tipping an away victory.

SuperSport United hold a 10-8 advantage against Bloemfontein Celtic over their previous 37 clashes with 19 draws.

Their last meeting was in January as SuperSport United won 2-1 at home. Thamsanqa Gabuza gave the hosts the lead before Victor Letsoalo levelled from the penalty spot. Bradley Grobler scored the winner for SuperSport.

Celtic are in terrible form and have one win in their last 11 matches in all competition. They currently sit 12th on the Premier Soccer League table and are on the verge of being dragged into a relegation battle.

Having earned a credible 0-0 draw away at Mamelodi Sundowns, Celtic lost 3-0 in Nigeria to Rivers United. That was followed by their solitary win since mid-December as they beat Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila 1-0 at home.

Two defeats have followed as Celtic lost 4-3 to AmaZulu in the last minute on their travels before before thrashed 4-0 in their last match against Cape Town City. 

The score was 0-0 away in Cape Town but a terrible second half saw Celtic eliminated from the Nedbank Cup.

Bloemfontein Celtic are still without Jackson Mabokgwane in goal. Mondli Mpoto played in the last match but conceded four goals so Sipho Chaine will be recalled.

Captain Ndumiso Mabena is proving a big loss up front due to injury but Celtic welcome Ronald Pfumbidzai back from injury in defence. Lantshene Phalane was rested against Cape Town City but will be recalled in midfield.

SuperSport are having a fine season in the Premier Soccer League and sit in 2nd place in the table, five points off Mamelodi Sundowns but with a match in hand.

Kaitano Tembo’s team are on a ten match unbeaten run in the league. A 2-1 home win in the reverse fixture against Bloemfontein Celtic was followed by a 0-0 home draw with title rivals Mamelodi Sundowns. 

A disappointing 1-1 home draw with AmaZulu followed before a 2-0 win at Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and a 1-1 home drawn with Swallows.

In their last match, SuperSport were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup after a 1-0 away defeat to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.

SuperSport are currently without four regulars due to injury. In the wide areas, both Iqraam Rayners and Giuly Manziba are absent. Onismor Bhasera is carrying a knock at left back so Thatayaone Ditlhokwe will deputise.

The team’s star midfielder Teboho Mokoena is injured and will likely be replaced by Zambian speed merchant Ghampani Lungu.
