Chippa United vs Stellenbosch Predictions & Tips - Relegation tussle to end level

Chippa sit in the relegation zone after a terrible season but four points from their two matches since Vladislav Heric took over as coach has given them hope. 

Stellenbosch looked out of trouble but seven matches without victory means they come into this match just four points ahead of Chippa. I am tipping Stellies to play for a draw and to get it on their travels.

Stellenbosch hold a 1-0 advantage over Chippa United across their three previous meetings with two draws.

The sides last met in November as Stellenbosch won 2-0 at home as Junior Mendieta and Nathan Sinkala scored the goals.

Chippa sit 15th in the PSL table and are one point off safety. They had gone 11 PSL matches without a victory before the last match and now sit just four points off opponents Stellenbosch going into this clash.

After defeats to top five sides in Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu, Chippa drew 2-2 with Swallows before being thrashed 5-1 at Maritzburg United. A 2-1 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns and a 1-0 loss to Baroka followed.

After Heric took over as coach, Chippa have managed a 0-0 draw with Golden Arrows and won 1-0 at Kaizer Chiefs in their last match after a late winner by Bienvenu Eva Nga.

Chippa look a more settled side of late. New coach Vladislav Heric is expected to stick with the team that beat Kaizer Chiefs.

Striker Bienvenu Eva Nga scored the winner in the last match but went off with a knock to the head and he is expected to be a substitute again if passed fit.

Despite good performances, Stellenbosch have hit a bad run of results at the wrong time and are now in a relegation battle. They sit 12th in the PSL table with opponents Chippa United just four points behind them in the relegation zone.

After fine wins against Cape Town City and at Baroka, Stellenbosch have gone seven matches without a win. They conceded late to lose to Sundowns before throwing away leads to draw with SuperSport and at Kaizer Chiefs.

A 1-0 defeat at AmaZulu and draws at Black Leopards and with Bloemfontein Celtic followed. They absolutely dominated their last match but were beaten 1-0 in the last minute by a harsh Maritzburg United penalty.

Stellenbosch are again expected to be without their key player at the back in Robyn Johannes and their top striker in attack in Stanley Dimgba.

Due to needing a draw, coach Steve Barker could recall some experienced older heads like Asavela Mbekile and Granwald Scott in midfield.
