Kaizer Chiefs vs Baroka Predictions & Tips - Soweto giants backed for victory

Kaizer Chiefs form has improved drastically over recent weeks. That is mainly down to Gavin Hunt fixing the defensive problems and the return of star forward, Samir Nurkovic. Baroka are struggling on the other hand so I will be looking at Chiefs to win, but don't expect a flurry of goals.

Baroka hold a 4-3 advantage over 11 matches played against Kaizer Chiefs. Four matches have been drawn.

The two last met on the final day of last season where they drew 1-1. That result cost Chiefs the title.

Kaizer Chiefs have won three of their last four PSL matches after not winning in seven previous to that. Manager, Gavin Hunt will still be under pressure but he has gotten the team performing now so they will be looking to climb the table.

Their recent form has seen Chiefs beat Amazulu 1-0 away, defeat Cape Town City 2-1 away and smash TTM 3-0.

In their last match, Chiefs drew 0-0 away at Stellenbosch in a tight match to make it four unbeaten in the league. The turnaround in form for Kaizer Chiefs has coincided with the return of key striker Samir Nurkovic after a long-term injury.

Despite underperforming in their expected goals this season, Kaizer Chiefs are at least creating enough opportunities. That should continue against a struggling Baroka outfit.

Amakhosi will be without star player Khama Billiat in attack due to injury. Bernard Parker and Dumisani Zuma are both missing in attacking areas through suspension and fitness concerns respectively. 

Willard Katsande is expected to be absent in midfield and Itumeleng Khune will be missing in goal due to COVID-19.

Baroka enjoyed a fine start to the season but have lost five of their last seven matches. That has seen them drop to 10th on the table.

Their last four matches saw a 2-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns and a 1-0 defeat to Swallows FC. Baroka then beat an injury-ravaged Stellenbosch 3-2 away.

In their last match, Baroka suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to AmaZulu. They were thoroughly outplayed throughout the 90 minutes.

Baroka will be without suspended left-back Cheslyn Jampies for this match due to an accumulation of yellow cards. 

Bakgaka also have serious doubts over their best central defender in Vusi Sibiya and their chief creative outlet in Thamsanqa Masiya on the right wing.
