Mamelodi Sundowns vs Baroka Predictions & Tips - Downs to extend unbeaten run against battling Baroka

Mamelodi Sundowns are flying at the top of the table and should be comfortably better than Baroka. A win to nil is the tip.

Mamelodi Sundowns hold a 5-2 advantage versus Baroka over their previous 10 meetings with three matches ending in draws.

Their last meeting was in January as Mamelodi Sundowns won 2-0 away from home. Lyle Lakay and Themba Zwane scored the goals.

Sundowns are 19 matches unbeaten in all competitions and have not lost since their first match of this season. They sit 1st in the Premier Soccer League table with a game in hand. Their seven goals conceded in 15 matches is the best defensive record in the league.

After conceding a 94th minute equaliser to draw 1-1 at home with Swallows, Sundowns won 2-1 at Black Leopards and 2-0 at home to Chippa United. That was followed by a 3-2 home win after extra time in the Nedbank Cup against Stellenbosch.

In their last match, Sundowns beat Al Hilal Omdurman 2-0 at home in the CAF Champions League. Mosa Lebusa and Kermit Erasmus were on target in the 10th and 90th minutes respectively.

Sundowns are without Brian Onyango in defence so Mosa Lebusa will continue in that role. Rushine De Reuck is another option after signing from Maritzburg United.

Kermit Erasmus is pushing for a start up front after scoring as a substitute in the last match. Andile Jali is expected to feature in midfield but captain Hlompho Kekana is doubtful with an injury.

Baroka have lost five of their last nine Premier Soccer League matches and sit 10th in the table. A 3-2 victory at Stellenbosch was their only success in the last ten matches. It was followed by a 2-0 home defeat to AmaZulu.

Baroka followed up that defeat by drawing 1-1 away at Kaizer Chiefs and 1-1 at home to Cape Town City.

In their last match, Baroka drew 1-1 at home with Cape Town Spurs in the Nedbank Cup but were eliminated on penalties. Richard Mbulu scored the goal.

Baroka rested most of their top players for the Nedbank Cup and all of them should return to start this match. That includes top striker Evidence Makgopa and midfielder Goodman Mosele.

New signing Joslin Kamatuka is pushing to start on the left wing whilst primary creative outlet Thamsanqa Masiya is fit again after injury to play on the right flank.
