Kaizer Chiefs suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat at home against Orlando Pirates, marking their fourth loss in the last five matches across all competitions. Player ratings reveal a generally lackluster performance, with Bruce Bvuma and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo receiving some of the lowest ratings. Substitutes attempted to change the game, but were largely ineffective. Asanele Velebayi stood out as the Man of the Match despite the team's struggles, providing some hope for improvement. Kaizer Chiefs lost 3-0 at home to Orlando Pirates on Saturday. Below are the player ratings for the Chiefs starting XI and subs. Amakhosi have now lost four of their last five matches in all competitions.

STARTING XI

Bruce Bvuma: 3

The goalkeeper was playing his first match since May 2025. This was a rusty, error-stricken display. Were it not for wasteful Pirates finishing, some more of his error could have been exposed.

Thabiso Monyane: 6

The fullback was one of the better Chiefs performers. However, he still had a tough afternoon against Tshepang Moremi.

Zitha Kwinika: 5

The veteran centre back had an off-performance. He was beaten by dribbles and dragged all over the place by Bucs' movement.

Inacio Miguel: 5

The experienced Angolan was back from injury. His absence had been badly felt in recent weeks. He looked rusty and not fully fit.

Aden McCarthy: 5

The left-footed centre back was used at fullback. He gave nothing forward and looked uncomfortable with his ground defending.

Nkosingiphile Ngcobo: 3

The midfielder looked slow and unable to track Pirates' runners. He had little impact in terms of his passing and was taken off at half-time to try to provoke a response.

Lebohang Maboe: 6

The midfielder worked hard and tried his best, but he was left exposed and overloaded in the engine room.

Glodi Lilepo: 4

The winger was invisible. He looked reluctant to take on Hotto in duels and added nothing going forward or defensively.

Ethan Chislett: 6

The number ten tried hard and drew several fouls. With the front three looking so ineffective, Chislett could never use his passing range.

Pule Mmodi: 4

The veteran winger was completely anonymous and was hooked at half-time. He did not help McCarthy defensively.

Flavio Da Silva: 5

The striker has been in good form, but he struggled in this match. The Pirates defenders were too quick and athletic for him to use his physicality to good effect.

SUBSTITUTES:

Thabo Cele: 4

The midfielder is just back from injury and it showed. He could not cover ground and his usual strong passing was not evident either.

Asanele Velebayi: 7 - Man of the Match

The younger winger was the best of a bad bunch on the day. He made some strong dribbles and delivered a couple of teasing crosses.

Ashley Du Preez: 5

The speed merchant did not make much difference to the game. He looks short of match fitness and confidence right now.

Wandile Duba: 5

The striker put himself about and got involved in duels, but he never showed the quality to turn the result around.

Bradley Cross: 5

The left back has been a real loss during his injury. He did not play long enough to have a real impact on the game.
