They beat Sekhukhune United 2-0 in the MTN8 semi-final first leg before a 1-0 loss at Orlando Pirates. They drew 1-1 at Sekhukhune in the second leg to reach a cup final for the third straight season.

In midweek, Stellenbosch beat Marumo Gallants 1-0 at home. Stellies put up just 0.61 Expected Goals in a narrow victory.

Ashley Cupido is injured up front. Andre De Jong may again play as a false nine.

Speedy winger Langelihle Phili is pushing for a start. He scored the winner off the bench last time out.

Sundowns have played seven matches this season with four draws. They were knocked out of the MTN8 and delivered a poor performance in their last match.

The PSL season began with a 1-1 draw at Chippa United and a 2-0 win over AmaZulu with 80% possession. They drew the first and second legs vs Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 before losing on penalties.
