Elche vs Athletico Bilbao

Newly-promoted Elche have had a brilliant start to the season, winning three and losing just one of their opening eight matches. They lost 3-1 away to Alaves before the international break, but won two and drew two of their previous four matches. Their defence is tight and although Athletico have lost three, drawn one and won one of their last five matches, they are too strong to stay in that rut. I see this as a score draw.

Celta Vigo vs Real Sociedad

Big day in the La Liga basement, as Sociedad will be eager to spring from second from the bottom to closer to 12th spot. Celta Vigo can smell the drop zone and I think that will spring them into winning mode.

Levante vs Rayo Vallecano

Rayo Vallecano have won two on the bounce, while Levante have won just one of their last four matches. Levante would normally have the edge, but Rayo Vallecano’s win against Shkëndija in Europe seems to have put a good burst of wind in their sails.

Getafe v Real Madrid

Real Madrid have won seven of their eight matches in La Liga this season – and eight of their last nine in all competitions. Getafe last beat Real eight matches ago, and have lost eight of their last 10 matches against them, scoring 2-13 against the Madrid giants. They are tight at home, so I’m calling it a cosy 2-0 to the visitors.

Rayo Vallecano to pull off third consecutive win, while Real Madrid to keep on winning.
