Nange to replace Margeman
After a bit part role at Kaizer Chiefs last season, dynamic midfield Phathutshedzo Nange is set to join his former coach at SuperSport on a free transfer. The duo worked together at Bidvest Wits.
Nange excelled in the 2021-22 season under Stuart Baxter and was handed a Bafana Bafana debut in a CAF African Cup of Nations Qualifier against Morocco. His arrival will cover the loss of Margeman in the engine room.
Six Others to Depart SuperSport
At least six other members of the squad are set to be offloaded. Central midfielder Jamie Webber was announced as a Sekhukhune United player on Wednesday whilst striker Thamsanqa Gabuza has departed at the end of his contract.
SuperSport have also decided not to renew the deals of utility player Zukile Kewuti and veteran winger Aubrey Ngoma. Key centre back Thatayaone Ditlhokwe has left for Kaizer Chiefs on a free transfer.
The final big departure could be of left back Onismor Bhasera, who is set to hang up his boots. Ronald Pfumbidzai has been signed from Chippa United on a free transfer to replace the retiring fullback.
Gavin Hunt to undergo Coaching Course
Experienced head coach Gavin Hunt holds a UEFA A licence but that is not enough for him to be allowed to sit on the bench in the CAF Confederations Cup. CAF’s regulations have caused a headache for many local coaches.
Hunt is set to undergo a CAF A licence course in the coming months in order to meet the criteria according to SABC News. Another option is for him to do his UEFA Pro Licence in Europe.
