Ukraine Form


Ukraine went undefeated in their first six games in 2021. They drew the first four followed by friendly wins against Northern Ireland and Cyprus.

Andriy Shevchenko’s side suffered a 3-2 defeat to Netherlands in their opening match at Euro 2020. They were 2-0 down, goals to Andriy Yarmolenko and Roman Yaremchuk making it 2-2 but conceded again in the 85th minute.

Ukraine bounced back with a 2-1 win against North Macedonia. It was Yarmolenko and Yaremchuk on target once again to establish a 2-0 lead and they held on in the closing stages.

Ukraine’s last match was a 1-0 defeat against Austria. They were poor and could only manage one shot on target.

Centre back Denys Popov hasn’t played at Euro 2020 as he battles a calf injury. Winger Oleksandr Zubkov was subbed off 13 minutes into the game against Netherlands and remains doubtful. 

Viktor Tsygankov has come off the bench in two straight games and is getting close to a start.

Andriy Yarmolenko is a key player after scoring 42 goals in 97 internationals. Roman Yaremchuk has scored 10 goals in 27 internationals.
