Arsenal's formidable form and defense put them in a strong position against Bayer Leverkusen. In London, Chelsea faces scoring challenges against PSG, who come in with a solid defense. Champions League Predictions, Round of 16

Sporting vs Bodo/Glimt

Sporting have won their last 7 at home on the bounce, keeping 4 clean sheets. With 26 goals in their last 10 matches at home, Sporting are sure to throw everything at Bodo/Glimt. Bodo are undefeated on the road in their last 6 matches (5 wins), conceding just 6 goals to their combined hosts.

Bodo have scored 23 times on the road in their last 10, so this looks like we’re in for plenty of goals. With the visitors’ scoring record I can’t see them playing it safe, but their defence is strong so I don’t see Sporting eating away at that 3-goal deficit. Should be a great match for the neutrals.

Arsenal vs Bayer Leverkusen

Arsenal are on a real heater, unbeaten in 14 games and with 6 wins on the trot at home. Leverkusen don’t travel well, losing 4 of their last 10 matches, with just 4 wins and 13 goals.

Arsenal have 23 goals at home in their last 10 matches, but it’s their defence that is so impressive, keeping a clean sheet in 4 of their last 5 matches. With Leverkusen failing to score in 4 of their last 10 matches on the road, I’m backing a low-scoring win for Arsenal, with a clean sheet.

Chelsea vs PSG

Chelsea’s strong season has hit a bump in the road, losing 3 of their last 5 matches. They beat Aston Villa 4-1 away before needing extra-time to beat Championship side Wrexham in the FA Cup. Their last 2 games have both been defeats, first a 5–2 thumping away loss to PSG followed by a 1-0 defeat at home to Newcastle.

On home turf Chelsea have 3 draws and 3 defeats in their last 10 matches, with 2 draws and a defeat in their last 3 matches. PSG have won 6 of their last 8 matches on the road, keeping 4 clean sheets in their last 9 matches. With a 3-goal deficit Chelsea are likely to throw everything at their visitors, but I’m backing them to score under 2 goals as PSG go through to the quarter-finals.

Manchester City vs Real Madrid

City’s first-leg loss to Real was their first defeat in 12 matches, followed by a frustrating draw against West Ham that has made their title hopes dwindle. City are looking good but the chances aren’t falling their way, and with Real’s tight defence this could be tricky.

Real have lost 4 times on the road in their last 10, while City are unbeaten at the Etihad in their last 14 matches. The two sides have shared 22 goals at the Etihad in their last 5 clashes, so I’m backing a high-scoring match. The match result is too tight to call, as Real could close City down but, equally, if they get off to a good start the Citizens could score 4 goals at home against Real for the 3rd time in 5 matches.
