Inter secured a 2-1 victory against Bayern Munich in the quarter-final first leg. Lautaro Martínez opened the scoring in Germany but Bayern equalised in the 85th minute, substitute Davide Frattesi netting the winner after a well-executed move involving Carlos Augusto.

The Nerazzurri returned to Serie A with a 3-1 victory over Cagliari. Marko Arnautovic scored and turned provider for Martínez, the Argentine netting his 20th goal of the season. Cagliari pulled one back but Inter cruised home after Yann Bisseck scored in the 55th minute, ending with 1.72-0.91 expected goals.

Bayern Munich Recent Form

Bayern Munich have shown some vulnerability in recent weeks, dropping points to Bochum and Union Berlin. They beat St. Pauli 3-2 and won 3-1 in Augsburg, Harry Kane scoring in both victories to get their Bundesliga campaign back on track.

The Bavarians suffered to a 2-1 defeat against Inter Milan in the Champions League last week. Kane hit the woodwork before they fell behind, unable to close it out after Thomas Müller equalised in the 83rd minute.

Vincent Kompany’s side are coming off a 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund in the Klassiker on Saturday. After falling behind early in the second half, they led 2-1 after goals to Raphaël Guerreiro and Serge Gnabry, ending with 2.95-1.72 expected goals.
