The Strikers have a 50/50 win ratio, but the Scorchers have won three from five. The Scorchers have also won their last two matches on the bounce, so I'm backing them to maintain their winning ways by beating the Strikers.

The Strikers bounced back from losing two in a row to beat the Heat by seven wickets.

Chris Lynn and Matthew Short have been the backbone of the Strikers’ top order. Liam Scott started the Big Bash with scores of 51 and 25, but has scored just 6 and 7* in his last two knocks. Jerrssis Wadia scored 34 against the Heat while Mackenzie Harvey has scored just 0 and 11.

Liam Scott (2/12, econ 3.00), Jamie Overton (3/19, econ 4.75) and Hasan Ali (2/29, econ 7.25) rolled the Heat for 121 to setup a comfortable seven-wicket win off just 14.1 overs. The three bowlers have each taken six wickets this season. Matthew Short has added to his runs by taking 1/8, 2/13 and 1/1 in his four matches.

He added 164 for the third wicket in 14 overs with Aaron Hardie, who slammed an undefeated 94 off 43 balls with fives sixes. Marsh’s previous scores were 0, 3, 16 and 6, while Hardie finally converted after scores of 13, 23, 9 and 28.

Nathan Ellis has been in great form with the ball, taking 2/43, 1/31, 3/30 and 2/44 in his last four matches. Rishad Hossain has also played a key role for the Hurricanes, taking eight wickets (ave 21.75) at an economy rate of 7.90.

Adelaide Strikers vs Perth Scorchers Team News

Scorchers keeper Joel Curtis is in line to make his Big Bash after Finn Allen picked up a finger injury against the Hurricanes.

Tabraiz Shamsi has joined the Strikers as an overseas replacement to cover for Englishmen Luke Wood and Jamie Overton. The pair are in England’s T20 World Cup squad and will be unavailable for the latter stages of the competition. The Strikers have left Hassan Ali and Harry Nielsen out of their matchday squad.

“Tabraiz is a highly respected cricketer who knows what it takes to perform in big moments, and we’re delighted to have him joining the Strikers for the remainder of the season. He gives our side plenty of different options for the remaining matches of the tournament, and we're excited to see what he brings," said head Coach Tim Paine.

Adelaide Strikers (matchday squad): Mackenzie Harvey, Chris Lynn, Harry Manenti, Jamie Overton, Lloyd Pope, Alex Ross, Jason Sangha, Liam Scott, Tabraiz Shamsi, Matt Short (c), Henry Thornton, Jerrssis Wadia, Luke Wood.
