In an exciting prediction for the upcoming cricket match, the Sydney Sixers are favored to win. Steve Smith is anticipated to lead the scorecard, with expectations for him to score over 50 runs. The odds of the Sixers winning stand strong at 1.66. Matt Renshaw is also predicted to perform well, aiming to score 30 or more runs. The odds for Smith to score 50+ runs are 2.62, while Renshaw's odds for 30+ runs are 2.1. Enthusiasts are in for an engaging match with standout performances.

Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Sixers Predictions

It’s a shootout for the final playoff spot between the Heat and the Sixers. I’m backing the Sixers as they have Steve Smith back in full form alongside Babar Azam and they have won their last four completed matches.

  • Sydney Sixers’ Steve Smith hit nine sixes in his 100 against the Thunder.
  • Sydney Sixers’ Babar Azam scored 47 off 39 balls against the Thunder.
  • Brisbane Heat’s Matt Renshaw has scored 41, 42* & 37 in his last four matches.
  • Brisbane Heat’s Nathan McSweeney has scored 43 & 49 in his last 4 innings.

Head-to-Head

The Sixers have won three and lost one of their last five Big Bash matches against the Heat. One match was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Brisbane Heat Form

After losing two matches out of three, the Heat struck back by winning back-to-back matches against the Thunder and the Hurricanes.

Matt Renshaw has been the backbone of his side’s batting, topping their run-scoring at a strike-rate of 156.52. Jack Wildermuth (221 runs) and Max Bryant (208 runs) have offered great support, both batting at a strike–rate over 150.00. They will be hoping for runs from Usman Khawaja, who has scored 78 and 19 since returning from Ashes duty.

Matthew Kuhneman (2/24, econ 6.00) and Xavier Bartlett (3/44, econ 11.00) bowled magnificently to defend just 161 runs in their last match against the Hurricanes. The win has kept them in contention for the playoffs. Bartlett is 8th on the runs list with 13 wickets.

Sydney Sixers Form

The Sixers have won their last four completed matches and are in good form, beating the Thunder by five wickets in their last match.

The Sixers have struggled for runs, with just Josh Philippe (232 runs) and Babar Azam (201) passing the 150-run mark. Babar and Steve Smith batted well together at the top of the order in the win over the Thunder and their success as an opening pair will likely dictate how the rest of their campaign plays out.

Jack Edwards is the leading bowler for the Sixers with 15 wickets from eight innings bowled, putting him joint second on the wickets list. In his last four matches he has taken 2/23, 1/31, 3/27 and 1/52. Ben Dwarshuis has taken 2/47, 2/25 and 4/13 in his last three matches but he is likely to again sit out for Mitchell Starc.

Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Sixers Team News

The Heat have added young seamer Oli Patterson to their 14-man squad as they push for a place in the playoffs. Test stars Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne and Michael Neser are all in line for a start in this must-win match.

The Sixers haven’t made any changes for their squad, but they might make some changes to their top order to offer some support to Steve Smith and Babar Azam.

Brisbane Heat (squad): Tom Balkin, Xavier Bartlett, Max Bryant, Zaman Khan, Usman Khawaja (c), Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan McSweeney, Michael Neser, Oli Patterson, Jimmy Peirson, Matthew Renshaw, Hugh Weibgen, Jack Wildermuth.

Sydney Sixers (squad): Sean Abbott, Babar Azam, Sam Curran, Joel Davies, Ben Dwarshuis, Jack Edwards, Daniel Hughes, Moises Henriques (c), Hayden Kerr, Ben Manenti, Josh Philippe, Lachlan Shaw, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc.

Verdict

I am backing the Sixers to win, with Steve Smith to top score.
