Lahore Qalandars vs Multan Sultans Predictions
Despite losing their last two matches, the Qalandars are doing well this season. A home win against the Sultans will lift them into second place, while the Sultans are stuck in last place. My money is on the Qalandars to hit their best form to beat the Sultans.
- Lahore Qalandars’ Fakhar Zaman has scored 67, 76 & 32 runs in his last four innings.
- Lahore Qalandars’ Sikandar Raza has scored 50* & 52 in his last two innings.
- Multan Sultans’ Usman Khan hit four sixes in his 40-ball score of 61 against Islamabad United.
- Multan Sultans’ Mohammad Rizwan has scored 105*, 38, 32 & 36 in his last 5 innings.
Head-to-Head
Multan Sultans have won four and lost one of their last five matches against Lahore Qalandars. They have also won the last three matches on the bounce.
Lahore Qalandars Form
The Qalandars made it two defeats in a row when they lost to Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets.
The Qalandars’ top-order failed again as they slipped to 44/6. Sikandar Raza (52 off 37 balls) struck his second half-century in a row, but with no support the Qalandars were rolled for 129 in their final over.
Shaheen Shah Afridi (2/22, econ 5.50) produced a superb spell to try and restrict the Zalmi top-order. Zalmi knocked off the winning runs with seven wickets and 20 balls to spare.
Lahore Qalandars Team News
The Qalandars need to improve their batting to get back on the winning track.
Multan Sultans Form
After breaking their three-match losing streak with a home win over the Qalandars four days ago, the Sultans suffered their fourth loss of the season when they lost to Islamabad United by seven wickets.
The Sultans got off to a great start thanks to their opening pair. Usman Khan hit four sixes in his score of 61 off 40 balls, but the Sultans struggled in their latter overs on their way to posting 168/5 off their 20 overs.
Islamabad powered their way to a seven-wicket win with 17 balls to spare. Michael Bracewell (1/31, econ 7.75) was the best of the Sultans bowlers.
Multan Sultans Team News
The Sultans need to beef up their batting and are likely to make some changes to their squad.
Verdict
I am backing Lahore Qalandars to win. I am also backing Fakhar Zaman to top score for Lahore Qalandars.
Usman Khan is a good bet to top score for the Multan Sultans.
Usman Khan is a good bet to top score for the Multan Sultans.
