Season preview

The Super Giants matched CSK and Mumbai Indians for eight wins from their 14 matches to finish in third place, but a poor performance in Eliminator 1 ruined what looked like being a strong challenge for the title. A quality side that should be a tough nut to crack, and a squad that knows each other well.

New players

Their only change has been bringing in Shamar Joseph (the exciting West Indies paceman who destroyed Australia in a recent Test Down Under) to replace English paceman Mark Wood, who was pulled from the tournament by the ECB in order to manage his workload ahead of the upcoming T20i World Cup.

Key players

The form of their three star batter-keepers (KL Rahul, Quinton de Kock and Nicholas Pooran) will be key to their success. There is plenty of quality in the squad, including Marcus Stoinis, Kyle Mayers, David Willey, Krunal Pandya, Shamar Joseph and Naveen-ul-Haq.
