Major League Cricket - Injured Nandre Burger to miss the remainder of MLC 2026
- SA-born Texas Super Kings bowler Nandre Burger is injured and will miss the remaining matches of the 2026 MLC season.

South Africa and Texas Super Kings left-arm seamer Nandre Burger will miss the remainder of MLC 2026 because of a pre-existing stress reaction in his back. Fellow South African Dian Forrester has replaced him in the squad.
Burger featured twice for TSK this season, claiming one wicket from six overs while conceding 6.66 runs per over. His absence could also concern South Africa ahead of an eight-Test home campaign in the coming South African season.
That international schedule begins with Australia touring for three ODIs and three Tests between September 24 and the end of October.
Forrester at home with the Super Kings
Forrester is already familiar with the Super Kings system. The 26-year-old all-rounder has worked with coach Stephen Fleming at Joburg Super Kings in the SA20 and Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. He joined CSK as a replacement during IPL 2026 after previously playing in the Pakistan Super League.
TSK also entered their previous match against MI New York in Dallas without regular captain Faf du Plessis, who was sidelined by a back spasm. Donnovan Ferreira led the team in his absence.
The Super Kings are in third place on the table but level on points with first-placed San Francisco Unicorns and the Seattle Orcas. All three teams are on six points after picking up three wins apiece.
The final of the 2026 Major League Cricket season will be played on 18 July 2026.
