Australia vs West Indies Predictions
Australia have secured the series win but they will want to go for the clean sweep. There is little value in backing the hosts, but I’m sticking with Steven Smith to score big despite his failure in the last match.

- Australia have won their last 10 ODIs.
- Australia’s Steven Smith scored 79 runs in the 1st ODI of the series.
- West Indies have lost their last 2 ODIs.
- West Indies’ Keacy Carty has scored 88 & 40 runs in his last 2 ODI innings.
Head to Head
Australia lead the series 2-0 with one match to play. They won the 2nd ODI of the series by 83 runs.
Australia Form
Batting first in the 2nd ODI, Australia struggled to really get going, losing wickets at regular intervals. The pitch was quite suitable for the fast bowlers, so it was never going to be a high-scoring affair.
It was left up to Matthew Short (41) and Sean Abbott (69) to get the Aussies to a respectable 258 in their 50 overs. Given the nature of the pitch, the score was probably above par.
On the bowling front, Josh Hazelwood took three wickets, as did Sean Abbott, completing an impressive man of the match display. West Indies were all out for 175 runs.
Australia Injuries & Team News
The series is already won so Australia are likely to make more changes to their side.
West Indies Form
The West Indies have already lost the series with just one match to play but they will still want to put their best foot forward.
Last time out, in good bowling conditions, they had the Aussies struggling at 91-5 but allowed the lower order to take the score to 258.Gudakesh Motie took 3-28 in 10 overs in a superb spell of bowling.
In response, the Windies lost three early wickets before Shai Hope (29), Keacy Carty (40) and Roston Chase (25) rallied to get the visitors back in the game.
Unfortunately, none of them could go on to score bigger runs and they were all out for 175.
West Indies Injuries & Team News
The West Indies top order was once again a concern with too many wickets falling up front. They don’t really have much on tour to replace them with, however, Shai Hope has proven to play his best cricket at the top of the order so we could see a switch coming there.
Verdict
Steven Smith is backed to score 50+ runs and top score for Australia. The value for the West Indies is with Keacy Carty whom has top scored for the visitors in both ODIs of the series.
