2026 T20 World Cup Journey

England finished second in Group C after a somewhat patchy group stage that saw them win three out of four matches. They squeaked home in their opening match after a terrific performance with bat and ball from low-ranked Nepal. Next up was a 30-run defeat at the hands of the West Indies, who went on to top the group.

England then needed to win their remaining two matches to ensure safe passage to the Super 8 stage. First up was a 5-wicket win over Scotland, followed by a 24-run victory over Italy.

England found good form in the Super 8s, winning all three of their matches to secure a semi-final berth. They crushed Sri Lanka by 51 runs, sneaked home against Pakistan by two wickets before a brilliant 4-wicket win over New Zealand.

World Cup Stars

Skipper Harry Brook is leading the runs list for his side, scoring 228 runs (joint 6th) at an average of 32.57, including one of just three centuries in this World Cup.
