Bangladesh vs Netherlands Women Predictions

Bangladesh have dominated the Netherlands in T20Is and have a far better track record than their opponents but they have been beaten by the Netherlands in the last month.

  • Bangladesh Women’s Nigar Sultana has scored 77, 58 & 32* in her last 5 matches.
  • Bangladesh Women’s Sobhana Mostary has scored 20-plus in 4 of her last 8 knocks.
  • Bangladesh Women’s Ritu Moni has picked up 9 wickets in her last 4 matches.
  • Netherlands Women’s Sterre Kalis has scored 28, 28 & 45 in her last 5 matches.

Head-to-Head

Bangladesh Women have won four and lost one of their last five T20Is against Netherlands Women. Bangladesh won their last meeting 10 days ago by 13 runs, but five days earlier the Netherlands beat Bangladesh by eight runs.

Bangladesh Women Form

After losing three T20Is in a row in late May, Bangladesh scored back-to-back wins over Scotland and the Netherlands ahead of the World Cup.

Nigar Sultana is Bangladesh’s in-form batter with five scores over 30 in her last 10 knocks. Sobhana Mostary has scores of 74, 16, 21, 22 and 39 in her last eight completed innings. Dilara Akter hit two sixes and eight fours in her 26-ball 51 in the win over Netherlands.

Ritu Moni has been in superb form with the ball, picking up figures of 4/12, 2/11, 2/36 and 1/26 in her last four matches. Marufa Akter picked up 2/18 against Ireland in their last match after taking 2/13 against Scotland a week earlier.

Netherlands Women Form

The Netherlands have played only a handful of games against their 11 opponents in this year’s World Cup, with most of their fixtures being against Associate and European rivals. In the last six months they have beaten Bangladesh (8 runs) and Ireland (98 runs) but have lost the other six matches they played against the full ICC member countries. Although their side is largely inexperienced they are entering the tournament confident of picking up at least one win if they bring their A-game to the oval.

Sterre Kalis has scored 1,949 runs in T20Is at an average of 36.09 and has scored 47, 51, 23, 28, 28 and 45 in her last 10 innings. Heather Siegers has scores of 52, 21 and 48 in her last five matches and Babette de Leede has scored 30 and 26 in her last three matches.

The Netherlands struggle to knock over opposition batters and their bowlers are all light on wickets. Silver Siegers took 2/24 against Bangladesh and 2/15 against Scotland in the last fortnight, and Heather Siegers took 3/39 in the same match against Bangladesh. Iris Zwilling has taken one wicket in each of her last five matches.
