Both sides are in decent form, and with Virat Kohli in top form it is difficult to write India off. It is however the conditions in Adelaide that I feel will favour England so I’m backing them to win.

India’s Virat Kohli has scored 82*, 62*, 64* & 26 runs in 4 of his last 5 T20I matches.
England won their last T20I match against India.

Head to Head

India have won four of their last five T20I matches against England. The last time they met, in July 2022, it was however England who won by 17 runs despite losing the series.

India Form

India topped Group 2 and looked pretty comfortable throughout. Their only defeat came against South Africa, and while it was only Virat Kohli heroics that saw them over the line against Pakistan, they were convincing in other games.

The Indian side cruised to a 71-run win in Melbourne against Zimbabwe in their last match. They scored 186 runs batting first as Suryakumar Yadav continued his good form with 61 runs from 25 balls.

Zimbabwe never threatened to get anywhere near India as they bowled Zimbabwe out for 115 runs. Ravi Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3-22 in four overs.

India Team News

India have a settled lineup but could decide to make a change or two. Rishabh Pant came in for the last match but only scored three which could see the return of Dinesh Karthik.

England Form

England had quite a stressful group phase after losing to Ireland and having their match against Australia rained out.

Fortunately England managed to get in ahead of Australian on net run rate. They will now want to go all the way given their form prior to the tournament.

Last time out England just got over the line in Sydney against Sri Lanka. In a must-win match, England restricted Sri Lanka to 141 in 20 overs. England’s chase started well with Jos Buttler scoring 28 runs, Alex Hales 47 runs and Ben Stokes 42*.

They however lost quick wickets after the openers were removed and slid from 75-1 to 11-5. Ben Stokes managed to hold it all together and see the side over the line with two balls to spare.

England Team News

England will be reluctant to change their side but Liam Livingstone and Harry Brooks have struggled during the tournament. There could be a call to be made for one of those two.

India v England

England are tipped to beat India and qualify for the World Cup final. Alex Hales is backed to top score after two good innings' in his last two matches.

Virat Kohli's World Cup form has been superb thus far, he can continue that with a top score.
