Pakistan vs Namibia T20 Cricket World Cup Predictions - Khan to slam Pakistan into the Super 8s

Last updated: 17 Feb 2026

Pakistan is set to face Namibia in a crucial match as both teams have experienced mixed results in their World Cup campaigns. Pakistan had a strong start but faced a setback against India, making their upcoming performance crucial for the Super 8 qualification. Namibia, on the other hand, has struggled with multiple defeats. Pakistan aims to leverage their key players, like Usman Khan, to secure a victory and advance. Expert predictions favor Pakistan as the likely winners, with recommendations also highlighting performances from players like Louren Steenkamp for Namibia.

Pakistan vs Namibia Predictions

Pakistan lost to a strong India side after winning their opening two matches. Namibia’s World Cup has been disappointing for a side that would have been hoping to pick up a win or two. While Pakistan can be inconsistent at times, with a Super 8 place at stake I’m backing them to bring their A-Game to send Namibia home with four defeats in their bag.

  • Pakistan’s Usman Khan has scored 53 & 44 in his last 4 innings.
  • Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan has scored 47 & 73 in his last 3 innings.
  • Namibia’s Louren Steenkamp has scored 51, 29 & 58 in his last 5 innings.
  • Namibia’s Jan Frylinck has scored 88, 30, 22 & 19 in his last 5 innings.

Head-to-Head

Pakistan and Namibia have met just once in T20Is, with Pakistan winning by 45 runs in 2021.

Pakistan Form

Pakistan sneaked over the line in their opener against the Netherlands before beating the United States by 32 runs. They then suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of a firing India side, losing by 61 runs.

India posted a competitive score of 175/7 off their 20 overs. Saim Ayub (3/25, econ 6.25) was the star of the show for Pakistan, taking care of three of the top five Indian batters. Salman Agha picked up 1/10 at just 5.00 to the over.

Pakistan got off to a horror start, losing four wickets for just 34 runs inside the powerplay. Usman Khan steadied the ship with a 34-ball innings of 44, aided by Shaheen Shah Afridi, who hit out lustily to score 23 off 19 balls.

Pakistan were bowled out for 114 off 18 overs, leaving them some work to do to secure their place in the Super 8s.

Namibia Form

Namibia suffered big defeats to he Netherlands and India, before giving the United States more of a run for their money when losing by 31 runs in their third match

Namibia’s bowlers took a hammering against the United States, as they racked up 199/4 off their 20 overs.

Willem Myburgh (2/22, econ 5.50) and Gerhard Erasmus (2/27, econ 9.00) did their best to restrict the US batters.

Louren Steenkamp (58 off 39), Jan Frylinck (19 off 15) and Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton (28 off 17) got the innings off to a great start as Namibia reached 112/2 in the 13th over.

JJ Smit (31 off 23) and Zane Green (18 off 13) did their best to keep Namibia on track for the win, but they ended their 20 overs on 168/6 to lose their third match on the bounce.

Pakistan vs Namibia Team News & Squads

After the defeat to India, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha admitted during the post-match interviews that his bowlers had an off day.

"We went with four spinners, but execution was missing in some parts. With the bat, we did not start well. If you lose 3-4 wickets in the powerplay, you are always chasing the game,” said Agha.

Namibia Craig Williams said at the post-match press conference after the defeat to the USA that their decision to retire batter Zane Green after 18 overs hadn’t worked.

"We needed 28 an over and Ruben Trumpelmann is our next guy in and he can access the boundaries easier so that was the thought process. Both JJ Smit and Zane struggled to time the ball, which is a compliment to the USA bowlers. It was just a tactical decision," said Williams.

Pakistan (possible XI): Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Salman Mirza, Salman Ali Agha (c), Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Sahibzada Farhan, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah Pacer, Abrar Ahmed.

Namibia (possible XI): Gerhard Erasmus (c), Zane Green, Dylan Leicher, Louren Steenkamp, Jan Frylinck, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton, William Myburgh, JJ Smit, Bernard Scholtz, Ben Shikongo, Ruben Trumpelmann.

Verdict

I am backing Pakistan to win. I am also backing Usman Khan to top score for Pakistan.

Louren Steenkamp is a good bet to top score for Namibia.
