  • South Africa Women’s Tazmin Brits has scored 1,958 runs in T20s (ave 30.59).

Head-to-Head

South Africa Women won their only previous T20I against the Netherlands Women by 115 runs back in 2010.

South Africa Women Form

After a disappointing loss to the favourites Australia in their opener, South Africa sneaked home against Pakistan before pulling off a brilliant win over India in their last match.

Marizanne Kapp scored a match-winning 81* off 45 with 11 boundaries after picking up 2/27 when India batted, but she will almost certainly be rested to recover from her illness. Annerie Dercksen scored 52 against Pakistan while Tazmin Brits hit 40 off 36 balls in taking South Africa to the brink of victory at 122/3 in the 17th over. Laura Wolvaardt remains her side’s best batter but went out for just 20 against India.

Ayabonga Khaka has two two-fors and six wickets in her last four matches. Nadine de Klerk took 2/35 against Australia and has scored 46, 25 and 37 in her last four matches, while Nonkululeko Mlaba has taken six wickets in her last five matches.

Netherlands Women Form

The Netherlands have lost their last five T20Is and have lost their three matches in this World Cup by six wickets, 95 runs and 98 runs.

Babette de Leede scored 26, 50, 28 and 56* in her last four innings, while Heather Siegers has scored 48, 16 and 21 in her last four innings. Sterre Kalis scored 44 off 43 balls against Australia.

Caroline de Lange has taken two wickets in each of her last three matches, while Iris Zwilling has figures of 1/23, 1/20, 1/41 and 3/52 in her last five matches, with her 3/52 coming against Australia.

Team news

Marizanne Kapp was suffering with illness ahead of her star performance in the win over India, so Kayla Reyneke is likely to get game time as they rest Kapp. With nothing to play for the Netherlands are likely to field the same squad as in their previous match as they look to give their first-choice players experience playing against one of the top sides in world cricket.

South Africa Women (possible XI): Laura Wolvaardt (c), Tazmin Brits, Annerie Dercksen, Kayla Reyneke, Nadine de Klerk, Chloe Tryon, Dane van Niekerk, Sinalo Jafta, Shabnim Ismail, Ayabonga Khaka, Nonkululeko Mlaba

Netherlands (possible XI): Heather Siegers, Phebe Molkenboer, Babette de Leede (c), Sterre Kalis, Robine Rijke, Frederique Overdijk, Iris Zwilling, Myrthe van den Raad, Caroline de Lange, Silver Siegers, Isabel van der Woning.

Verdict

South Africa Women are tipped to win at odds of 1.012, with Laura Wolvaardt, Shabnim Ismail, Ayabonga Khaka and Caroline de Lange backed to star with bat and ball.
