The Proteas bowled superbly to limit Sri Lanka to 129/4 off their 20 overs. Marizanne Kapp (1/15) was sensational with the ball.

South Africa’s innings got off to a great start through Laura Wolvaardt (18) and Tazmin Brits (12) but kept losing wickets. Sune Luus (28) top-scored but couldn’t see her side home, South Africa falling three runs short at the end of their 20 overs.

New Zealand Women Form

The White Ferns had won four matches in a row before losing their T20 World Cup opener against Australia by 97 runs.

New Zealand bowled superbly at the start of the Australian innings, reducing Australia to 76/3 in the 11th over. They recovered to post 173/9 off their 20 overs, Amelia Kerr returning figures of 3/23.

New Zealand lost both openers for golden ducks in the first over, and the innings never recovered. Kerr top-scored with 21 as New Zealand were bundled out for 76 off 14 overs.
