The USA got off to a great start to the tournament by beating Canada by seven wickets, but they aren’t used to playing sides of Pakistan’s calibre. Pakistan’s world-class batting and bowling should be too strong for the USA.

Pakistan’s Babar Azam has scored 57, 75, 32 & 36 in his last 5 innings.
Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman has scored 20, 78 & 45 in his last 4 innings.
USA’s Aaron Jones hit 10 sixes in his 94* off 40 balls in the openinig match against Canada.

The USA beat Canada in the first match of the tournament after a superb run chase that earned them a seven-wicket win with more than two overs to spare.

Canada batted superbly to set the USA a target of 195, with Ali Khan (1/41), Harmeet Singh (1/27) and Corey Anderson (1/29) sharing the wickets.

A devastating third-wicket partnership of 131 between Andries Gous (65 off 46 balls) and Aaron Jones (94 off 40 balls) secured the win for the USA.

The USA are in good form but it remains to be seen how well they will cope against quality opposition.

Pakistan Form

Pakistan lost their last T20I series 2-0 to England, with their batters and bowlers struggling. They can be inconsistent, but they usually turn on the form for big tournaments.

In their last match against England, Pakistan were bowled out for 157 in the 20th over. Babar Azam (36 off 22 balls) and Usman Khan (38 off 21 balls) looked set for a big score but the innings fell away against strong England bowling.

England raced to the win off 15.3 overs and for the loss of just three wickets, despite some superb bowling from Haris Rauf (3/38).

While Pakistan’s strong batting lineup quite often hinges around Babar’s form, the Pakistan bowling is usually dynamite and they could dismiss the USA cheaply. Pakistan will be without the injured Imad Wasim for this clash.
