Bangladesh have clinched the three-match series after the first two T20Is but they will be eager for a clean sweep ahead of the ODI series. Afghanistan have now lost four T20Is in a row, which is why I am backing Bangladesh to win.

Bangladesh’s Parvez Hossain Emon hit three sixes in his 37-ball 54 against Afghanistan in the 1st T20I.
Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz is the joint leading six-hitter in the series, with five sixes.

Afghanistan slipped to their fourth defeat on the bounce when they lost to Bangladesh by two wickets in the 2nd T20I of the series.

Afghanistan got off to a solid but slow start thanks to Ibrahim Zadran (38 off 37) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (30 off 22). The middle-order added some spark, but only enough to hit 147/5 off their 20 overs.

Azmatullah Omarzai (4/23, econ 7.26) struck early to reduce Bangladesh to 24/3, but the visitors recovered to claim a two-wicket win with five balls in hand.

With the series lost, Afghanistan need to freshen up their side with a view to finding form ahead of their ODI series against Bangladesh.

Bangladesh secured the three-match series against Afghanistan by beating their hosts for the second match in a row, clinching the series 2-0 with the last match to come.

Rishad Hossain (2/45) got two of the first three wickets to fall to reduce Afghanistan to 72/3 in the 12th over. Nasum Ahmed (2/25, econ 6.25) was also superb with the ball, restricting Afghanistan to 147/5 off their 20 overs.

Bangladesh recovered from 24/3, but the visitors got back on track with a 56-run stand for the fourth wicket between Jaker Ali (32 off 25) and Shamim Hossain (33 off 22). Nurul Hasan chipped in with 31* off 21 balls to see his side home with five balls in hand.

Bangladesh are in really good form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team, although with the series decided they might beef up their batting with a view to strengthening ahead of the ODI series.
