Australia tripped India up in the 2nd T20I and kept the pressure up to squeeze them out for 125. I don’t see the Aussies pulling that trick off again against the world’s top T20I side, who should bounce back with a win.

India’s Abhishek Sharma hit two sixes and eight fours in his 68 in the 2nd T20I.
India’s Sanju Samson has scored 39, 24 & 54 in his last 4 innings.
Australia’s Mitchell Marsh hit four sixes in his 26-ball 46 against India.
Australia’s Travis Head has scored 28, 29 & 28 in his last 4 innings.

Australia made it three wins from their last five matches when they beat India by four wickets. The other two matches were rained-off.

Josh Hazlewood (3/13, econ 3.25) produced a match-winning spell that knocked the Indian top-order out, with assistance from Nathan Ellis (2/21). They bowled India out for 125 with 10 balls to spare.

Mitchell Marsh (46 off 26) powered Australia off to a flying start. Despite a mini-collapse they raced to their target for the loss of six wickets and with 40 balls to spare.

Australia are in good form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team, although they will need to be ready to face up to a stronger challenge from India in the 3rd T20I.

India Form

India lost the 2nd T20I against Australia, which was their first T20I defeat since before their undefeated Asia Cup campaign. The defeat saw them go 1-0 down in the series after the 1st T20I was rained-off.

India collapsed to 49/5 before Abhishek Sharma (68 off 37) and Harshit Rana (35) lifted them past 100. They were bowled out for 125 off 18.4 overs.

India fought back bravely after Australia reached 87/1 in the 8th over. Varun Chakravarthy (2/23, econ 5.75) and Jasprit Bumrah (2/26, econ 6.50) knocked over five Australians for 37 runs but didn’t have enough runs to play with as Australia sealed a four-wicket win.

India Team News

India aren’t likely to make any changes to their squad as they are a strong unit. They will be expecting a lot more runs from their top order in the 3rd T20I.
