Ireland Women Form

Ireland’s excellent form in the World Cup qualifiers ended with their back-to-back defeats against the Proteas.

The Irish top-order did well to bat through their 20 overs and get good game time against top bowling. They were way short of their target, but the experience should make them more competitive in the final match of the series.

Aimee Maguire was resolute in trying to contain the Proteas top-order, knocking over the top three in returning figures of 3/43.

There are no injury reports from either side. Ireland are likely to keep their same side as the players are gaining valuable experience against one of the best three sides in the world. The Proteas might look to give game time to Seshnie Naidu, Karabo Meso and Annerie Dercksen.

"We did say prior to the series that we wanted to dominate as much as we could. I still think we can be a bit better," said Chloe Tryon after the win in the 2nd T20I. "I think we could have been a bit better in the middle overs with our bowling. There are just small areas that we can work on. Hopefully, we can just finish it off in Benoni."
