Blenheim Palace is the best of a strong field competing in Race 4.
Act of Grace will have a tough task to beat out the challenge from Last Car To Pass in Race 7.

Race 1 – Lenoxx (3)

Jockey: Craig Zackey

Trainer: D. Kannemeyer

The 3-yr-old bay colt Lenoxx started his career by coming home last in a field of 10 runners back in February. A 73-day break got him up to speed and in his last four runs he has placed second twice and fourth in his other two runs. He ran a strong second place in his last race so I’m backing him to turn his sixth race into his first win.

Race 4 – Blenheim Palace (6)

Jockey: Craig Zackey

Trainer: D. Kannemeyer

Blenheim Palace started out last in her most recent running which was at Scottsville in the second week of July. The 3-yr-old bay filly put in a strong fight to clinch third place and her staying power has me convinced that a first win is on the cards

In a field that lacks quality finishes the next best challenger is Hazel Green (4.00) who ran an impressive 2-3-3-2-2-2-3 in the second half of last year, but her last three finishes have gone cold as she has crossed in 4-5-6.

Race 5 – Sohot Sowhat (9)

Jockey: Gavin Lerena

Trainer: L. V. Woodruff

Sohot Sowhat fought hard in her last race but couldn’t stay the pace against a flying Warm Reception, who won their last race by a couple of lengths. The 5-yr-old bay filly Sohot Sowhat is a powerful runner and has three career wins, although she has had a lean time of it over the past year.

Finishes of 8-10-11-2-7-5 were enough to deserve an 80-day break which rewarded her stable with a fourth place finish in May. A 52-day break followed and she stormed through for that second place at Greyville behind Warm Reception. She looks a strong runner and I’m backing her to pull through for a long-awaited fourth career win.

Seven No Trump (5.50) is her nearest challenger in the odds and snagged back-to-back wins at the start of the year, but with two eight-place finishes after that my confidence in her isn’t as high as for the flying Sohot Sowhat.

Race 7 – Act Of Grace (4)

Jockey: Chad Little

Trainer: G. S. Kotzen

Act Of Grace has two wins and five second place finishes in her 12-race career and comes into the race on the back of 1-7-2 places after a 98-day break. Before that she had run a credible 1-6-2-4-7-2. The 4-yr-old chestnut filly has strong credentials although a touch of inconsistency.

Last Car To Pass (4.50) is highly rated but hasn’t placed above third place in her last five runs. Treasure Island (5.50) has eight Top 3 finishes (including one win) in her 14 starts and comes into the race strong on the back of finishes of 2-5-5-3-2.
