Ghana Women Form

Ghana were in solid form in their three friendlies against the Ivory Coast, Tanzania, and Malawi in preparation for the start of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations in July, winning 1-0, drawing 0-0, and winning 4-0, respectively.

Before those results, Ghana thumped Russia 4-0 and Ghanaian club Ampem Darkoa FC 4-0.

The Black Queens have won four of their last five fixtures, along with one draw. They scored 13 goals and conceded none.

Ghana will be aiming to go all the way and win this edition of WAFCON, and will fancy their chances against Cape Verde, as their opponents have not been at their best recently, with five defeats in seven games.

Cape Verde Women Form

Cape Verde struggled in three friendly internationals played between June and July. They lost 3-0 and drew 0-0 against the Ivory Coast before losing 5-0 to Morocco.

In March, Cabo Verde took on Morocco in a one-off international, losing by three goals to nil.

The Blue Sharks have secured one victory in their last five matches, with three defeats and one draw. They scored four goals and conceded 13.

Cape Verde are making their debut at WAFCON, but face a tough assignment in their opening Group D match against Ghana, as their opponents have been playing well, with eight wins in their last ten games, including six clean sheets in a row.
