Race 1
Juniper Green showed good speed to win her last start over 1200m here and should be just as effective back at 1000m, with apprentice Girish Samo-Burthia claiming 4kgs. Banyan made a winning debut over this C&D and looks progressive despite tackling stronger opposition, while Roaming Spirit returns from a break with solid form and could be competitive if fit.
Race 2
Night Bomber ran well in the Listed Betway Spring Spree last time and looks suited to the drop to 1000m. Gimmethegoodlife has consistent form and was only caught late here over 1200m, while Karate Kid, who meets him on the same terms after finishing close up, boasts a strong record at the minimum trip and remains a threat.
Race 3
Mo Ment was dominant when scoring over 3000m here and is unbeaten over this C&D, making him the one to beat. Luce Verde steps up to 2600m for the first time trip after a hard-fought win at 2000m and could be a danger if he stays the course, while Breeze Over is 4kgs better off at the weights this time which won’t be a game-changer but should offer him a better chance of putting in a challenge.
Race 4
Eiffel Tower has been consistent on this course and should relish the 2000m, making him a lively contender. Gimmeachoice impressed when winning easily over this distance at the Vaal and looks the main danger, while American Rebel should be fitter now and rates a solid each-way chance with Rachel Venniker taking weight off.
Race 5
King’s Express is better than his last run when he took a knock, and he has an excellent record over this C&D; with a 4kg claim, he’s the one to beat. Fire ‘N Flames could bounce back under Callan Murray, while Hotarubi, close behind him last time, may have to settle for a similar finish.
Race 6
Bjorn Ironside shaped well when third over this C&D and should be fitter with S’manga Khumalo aboard. Pennsylvania showed good pace when winning last time at the Vaal and remains in form, while Mystical Miss drops in class after contesting a Grade 2 and could be competitive with a light weight.
Race 7
Master Christmas was well-ridden to win last time and can follow up with another win under apprentice Samo-Burthia, who again claims 4kgs. Player should be finishing strongly despite a wide draw, while Command Pilot, close behind him last time and now slightly better at the weights, could make it tight.
Race 8
Gerbera returns from a break but has a perfect record both at this track and trip and runs well for Craig Zackey. Parisian Walkway, also resuming, is consistent at this distance and should be in the mix, while Solar Sail has a good draw and solid C&D form to recommend him.
