Montpellier go into this mammoth clash in fine form, having won six of their last seven fixtures. Many of those wins have come by convincing margins. My best bet is for Montpellier to win against the odds and claim their second European Challenge Cup title on Friday night at Twickenham.

Leicester Tiger are enjoying a fine season with their first run to a cup final for some time. They defeated the Newcastle Falcons 39-15 in the quarter final before seeing off Ulster 33-24 at home in the semi’s.

Since that semi final victory the Tigers have lost 26-10 to Sale Sharks and beaten Harlequins 35-29 at home in the English Rugby Premiership.

The Tigers are in a secure mid-table position in the Rugby Premiership which has allowed them to rotate their team in preparation of the final.

Leicester Injuries & Team News

Matias Moroni will continue at outside centre for the Tigers with try-scoring machine, Nemani Nadolo on the left wing. Crucial to Leicester’s cause will be the performance George Ford and Richard Wigglesworth as a half-back pairing.

Montpellier Form

Montpellier have had a disappointing Top 14 campaign in France. They find themselves 10th on the table after 23 matches but that belies the talent within the squad.

While they were in a relegation fight a few weeks ago, they have pulled away with two wins in their last three Top 14 matches. Last weekend Montpellier lost 32-10 at Stade Francis but did rest a few players with the final in mind.

In the European Challenge Cup, Montpellier defeated Benetton 31-25 in the quarter-final and Bath 19-10 in the semi-final.

Montpellier Injuries & Team News

Montpellier are close to full strength for the final. Utility back Johan Goosen will start alongside Jan Serfontein at centre. There is only a place for Handre Pollard on the bench as he continues to regain match-fitness after a long injury layoff.
