  • Stormers have won 2 of their last 5 matches (Currie Cup).

Head to Head

Stormers XXIII have the advantage against the Sanlam Boland Cavaliers, with three victories to none in the Carling Currie Cup since 2016.

Boland Form

The Sanlam Boland Cavaliers had the perfect start to their Currie Cup campaign last weekend, beating the Bulls 24-10 at home after leading 14-3 at half-time.

Before that result, Boland played well in last year's competition. They edged the Cheetahs 37-35, lost 48-39 to the Griquas, beat the Lions 29-10, the Bulls 28-20, and the Pumas 29-26, and then lost 33-31 to the Sharks and 40-22 to the Stormers during the regular season before losing to the Lions 67-19 in the semi-finals.

Boland will be out to reproduce a similar performance to their previous Carling Currie Cup match; however, they have lost three in a row against the Stormers in this competition.

Stormers Form

The Stormers XXIII produced an excellent second-half performance in their Currie Cup opener against the Griquas last weekend, winning 25-19 at home after trailing 8-12 at half-time.

Western Province struggled in the Carling Currie Cup last season. They lost 48-23 to the Bulls, 40-19 to the Lions, 47-17 to the Griquas, 31-24 to the Cheetahs, 29-21 to the Sharks, and 39-13 to the Pumas before beating Boland 40-22.

The Stormers will have the belief they can register another win, as they started their campaign with a solid victory over the defending champions last weekend and beat Boland by 22 points last season.
