Head to Head

Morocco defeated Kenya 5-1 in a friendly international in 2025.

Morocco Women Form

Morocco played four tune-up matches before the start of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations between June and July. They beat Benin 4-2, drew 0-0 with New Zealand, edged Malawi 2-1, and thrashed Cape Verde 5-0.

Morocco had been in solid form before those performances. They thrashed Burkina Faso 5-0 before drawing 1-1 in the second game, defeated Cape Verde 3-0, Tanzania 3-0 before drawing 1-1 with Mali between February and March this year.

The Atlas Lionesses won three of their last five fixtures, with two draws. They scored 12 goals and conceded four.

Morocco will fancy their chances in their opening WAFCON group game, as they have been in great touch, having won six of their last nine matches, including three draws, and had no problem against Kenya in 2025, thumping their opponents 5-1.

Kenya Women Form

Kenya had a decent preparation for the 2026 WAFCON. They lost 4-1 on penalties to Zambia after the score ended 1-1 before thrashing Lesotho 6-0.

However, the team from East Africa struggled before those results. They lost 2-0 to Benin, 1-0 to the Ivory Coast, and beat India 3-0 before losing to Australia 2-0.

The Harambee Starlets have won two of their last five fixtures, with three defeats. They scored nine goals and conceded four.

Kenya have not been at their best this year, with four defeats in six outings, and a tough group to navigate in order to reach the knockout rounds of the tournament, with the likes of Algeria and Senegal still to play.
