APR face Gor Mahia in a highly anticipated Kagame Cup match. Both sides come off strong domestic seasons, with APR finishing second in Rwanda and Gor Mahia winning the Kenyan Premier League. Recent form shows both teams regularly score but also concede, hinting at an open game with goals on both sides. Head-to-head, APR have a slight edge. The recommended pick is both teams to score, as neither consistently keeps clean sheets and both have quality attackers.

APR and Gor Mahia both have plenty of quality in the final third, which should result in goals at both ends.
  • APR have scored in nine of their last 10 matches in all competitions.
  • APR have conceded in seven of their last 10 matches in all competitions.
  • Gor Mahia have scored in four of their last six matches in all competitions.
  • Gor Mahia have conceded in three of their last four matches in all competitions.

Head to Head

APR lead 3-1 in their last five matches against Gor Mahia.

APR Form

APR will be feeling confident heading into the Kagame Cup after a solid campaign in the Rwanda Premier League. They finished second in the table and only suffered four defeats throughout the season.

Taleb Abderrahim’s team were almost unstoppable in the final weeks of the season, ending the campaign with four straight league wins, including a 2-0 victory over Gicumbi in their last fixture. They also won the Peace Cup, beating Rayon Sport on penalties after playing out a 0-0 draw in normal time.

APR are solid going forward and have scored in nine of their last 10 matches in all competitions. However, they can be a bit shaky at the back and have conceded in seven of those 10 fixtures.

Gor Mahia Form

Gor Mahia are also coming off a successful domestic campaign after emerging champions of the Kenyan Premier League. They led the league for much of the season and cruised to their 22nd domestic title.

The Kenyan giants ended the season in good form, as they went unbeaten in eight of their final 10 matches in all competitions. However, the last competitive outing for Charles Akonnor’s team was in May when they suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Nairobi United.

One similarity with APR is that Gor Mahia also have some attacking quality, scoring in four of their last six matches in all competitions. However, they have conceded in three of the last four fixtures in this run.
