Cheetahs vs Pumas Predictions & Tips - Pumas can beat weakened Cheetahs

Cheetahs are still a number of players down due to COVID-19. This will give the Pumas confidence and the chance to go top of the table should they win.

The Cheetahs have won four of their last five matches against the Pumas. When they last met in the 2020 Currie Cup, the Cheetahs came away with a 43-37 win in Nelspruit.

The Cheetahs are currently bottom of the Currie Cup table. They have only played one match thus far.

After a bye in week one, the Cheetahs lost 31-10 at Griquas. The Bloemfontein-based outfit had 13 players missing due to positive COVID-19 tests for that fixture.

Last week the Cheetahs game against the Bulls was called off due to the number of positive COVID cases. This week’s match is set to go ahead as planned but there will be more testing closer to kick off.

The Cheetahs are still expected to be missing a number of players as they are still in isolation. They still have 11 positive cases within the squad so a weakened lineup is guaranteed.

The Pumas are enjoying a fantastic start to the Currie Cup after winning two of their three matches. They are currently second but have a game in hand on Western Province.

A superb performance saw the Pumas beat the Lions 39-10 in their first match before going down 32-27 to the defending champions, Bulls at Loftus.

That did little to stop the Pumas momentum. Last week they won 26-22 at home against Griquas. It was a titanic battle but the Pumas outscored Griquas three tries to one.

The Pumas are expected to be near full strength. They have no reported injuries.
