Connacht vs Saracens Predictions - Saracens set to beat Connacht in Investec Champions Cup clash

Saracens enter the match against Connacht with strong momentum, having won three of their last four fixtures and holding an unbeaten record against Connacht in European competitions. Connacht, currently struggling for form in the United Rugby Championship, have never beaten Saracens and face a significant challenge. With Saracens' recent results—including a convincing win over Bristol—and a favourable head-to-head record, they are tipped to cover the -3.5 handicap and continue their dominance.

Connacht vs Saracens Predictions

Connacht had a solid run of results in the EPCR Challenge Cup last season but have yet to beat Saracens in a competitive match. Saracens reached the round of 16 in last season's Investec Champions Cup and have had a solid start to their domestic campaign.

  • Saracens have won 3 of their last 4 fixtures.
  • Saracens have won 3 consecutive games against Connacht.
  • Connacht have lost 3 of their last 4 matches.

Head to Head

Saracens have the advantage over Connacht, with three victories to none in three meetings.

Connacht Form

Connacht competed in the EPCR Challenge Cup last season, reaching the quarter-finals of the competition before losing 45-22 to eventual champions, Montpellier.

The team from Galway is currently 14th in the United Rugby Championship table with five points from three games.

The Westerners lost 29-15 to the Stormers at home and beat Benetton 22-19 away before losing 36-19 away to Glasgow Warriors in the URC this season.

Connacht have not had much success so far this season and have faced Saracens three times in European rugby competition, losing every time to their opponents.

Saracens Form

Saracens fell short in the round of 16 of the European Rugby Champions Cup last season, losing 31-22 to Bath.

Sarries occupy third place in the Premiership Rugby standings with 11 points from three matches.

The Men in Black defeated Leicester Tigers 40-38 away and lost 21-17 at home to Sale Sharks before beating Bristol 30-7 at home in the PREM this season.

Saracens will fancy their chances against an inconsistent Connacht side, as they have been in solid form so far this season and secured an excellent result in their previous domestic league match.

Team News

Connacht

Head coach Stuart Lancaster is expecting a tough match against Saracens: “It’s a serious challenge. Obviously we watched the game from the weekend. They had a very good win against Bristol ... it’s going to be a hell of a game.”

Shayne Bolton has been cleared of his HIA protocols and is available for selection, while Dave Heffernan has returned to training.

Saracens

Saracens have terminated the contract of Totoa Auvaa after a series of disciplinary incidents involving the forward.

Verdict

Saracens have a perfect winning record against Connacht at home and are tipped to cover the -3.5 handicap.
