Exeter vs Northampton Saints Predictions

  • Exeter have won 9 of their last 10 fixtures in all competitions.
  • Exeter have won 13 of their last 14 home games in all competitions.
  • Exeter have won 3 of their last 4 home matches against Northampton.

Head to Head

Exeter Chiefs have the advantage with 20 victories to 16 over Northampton, including one draw in 37 meetings.

Exeter drew 33-33 with Northampton Saints away from home in the Premiership earlier this season.

Exeter Form

Exeter scored a late penalty to see off Benetton in their EPCR Challenge Cup quarter-final match last weekend, winning 44-41 away from home after the score was 24-24 at half-time.

In the Premiership, Exeter have been performing well at home. They defeated Newcastle 38-15, Harlequins 38-0, Gloucester 39-12, the Leicester Tigers 24-10, and lost 8-3 to Bristol before beating the Sale Sharks 26-14.

Exeter are 4th in the Premiership table with 45 points from 12 matches.

Exeter have been in fine form at home, winning 13 of their last 14 games, including a six-match winning streak, which gives them the edge over league leaders Northampton Saints.

Northampton Saints Form

The Northampton Saints conceded a late converted try against Bath in their European Rugby Champions Cup quarter-final clash last weekend, losing 43-41 away from home after leading 35-26 at the break.

The Saints have contested six away games in the Premiership this season. They beat Gloucester 37-35, Newcastle 36-19, lost 46-12 to Bristol, defeated Bath 41-21, Sale Sharks 43-29, and Saracens 21-17.

Northampton are 1st in the Premiership standings with 52 points from 12 games.

The Northampton Saints have been in great touch lately, winning nine of their last 11 fixtures, but they have had little success against Exeter in recent matchups, losing two of their last three against their hosts, including 31-14 in the 2026 Premiership Rugby Cup.

Team News

Exeter

Len Ikitau and Ethan Roots are both close to returning from injury, but head coach Rob Baxter is being cautious in bringing them back too soon.

Josh Iosefa-Scott, Paul Brown-Bampoe, and Ben Hammersley have all returned to full training.

Northampton Saints

Forward Ed Prowse has stated that the Saints are looking forward to their match against Exeter: “We always know it's going to be a physical encounter going down to Exeter so we're really up for that, especially after what happened last week at Bath,” the Saints lock said.

“It's probably going to be a similar sort of challenge really, which we probably weren't quite at from a forwards perspective against Bath.

“We're really looking forward to that physical challenge this week.”

Sam Graham is back in training and will likely feature against Exeter.

Curtis Langdon, Tom Pearson, and Tom Lockett picked up injuries against Bath and are doubtful starters.

Verdict

Exeter have been in excellent form at home throughout this season and are tipped to cover the +1.5 handicap in their match against Northampton Saints.
