Australia vs Wales U20 Predictions

Australia came up short in their final pool match but had been in fine form before that result. Wales have had a solid World Rugby U20 Championship campaign so far but have historically struggled to beat Australia.

  • Australia have won 3 of their last 4 fixtures.
  • Australia have won 3 of their last 4 matches against Wales.
  • Wales have lost 3 of their last 5 games.

Head to Head

Australia have the advantage over Wales, with four victories to one in five meetings since 2015.

Australia U20 Form

Australia fell short in their bid to reach the 2026 World Rugby U20 Championship semi-finals on Tuesday, losing 34-29 to France after trailing 22-12 at half-time.

Earlier in their tournament, Australia crushed Spain 90-22 and thumped Fiji 53-17 in their opening group stage fixtures.

The Junior Wallabies placed second overall in Pool D with 12 points from three matches.

Australia have been in solid form during the tournament, and will fancy their chances in their fifth-place semi-final match against Wales, having won three of their last four matches against their opponents.

Wales U20 Form

Wales had no answer in their final Pool A match against the defending champions, South Africa, losing 52-33 after trailing 26-14 at the break.

Before that result, Wales edged Georgia 25-24 in their opening 2026 World Rugby U20 Championship match before thrashing Uruguay 47-0.

The Welsh finished second in Pool A with ten points from three games.

Wales have had success in the tournament, but will find the going tough against Australia, as their opponents have been playing well and are scoring plenty of tries.
