Burkina Faso vs Equatorial Guinea Predictions - Burkina Faso tipped for victory in AFCON

Burkina Faso is set to face Equatorial Guinea in an upcoming match, with Burkina Faso currently in impressive form, having won their last four matches and kept multiple clean sheets. Equatorial Guinea, on the other hand, has had a less consistent performance with recent losses. Historically, Burkina Faso has the upper hand, previously winning 1-0 against Equatorial Guinea, though their last encounter ended in a 0-0 draw. Predictions favor Burkina Faso to secure a 'win to nil,' potentially with a 1-0 victory based on current form and past meetings.

Burkina Faso vs Equatorial Guinea Predictions

Burkina Faso come into this fixture in good form and should have the quality to win the game. I am backing them to win with value on a win to nil.

  • Burkina Faso have won their last 4 matches.
  • Burkina Faso have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 5 matches.
  • Burkina Faso have scored 3 goals in each of their last 3 matches.
  • Equatorial Guinea have lost 2 of their last 4 matches to nil.
  • Equatorial Guinea have failed to win 3 of their last 4 matches.

Head to Head

These two nations have only met twice with Burkina Faso winning 1-0 in 2011 while the most recent encounter ended in a 0-0 stalemate in 2023.

Burkina Faso Form

Burkina Faso will be eager to make a statement at AFCON 2025 after failing to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Burkina Faso ended their World Cup qualifying campaign with a 1-0 victory over Sierra Leone and a 3-1 success against Ethiopia. That was, however, not enough to see them leapfrog Egypt into the top spot in the group.

In November, Burkina Faso played two friendlies in preparation for AFCON They beat Niger 3-2 and Benin 3-0.

Equatorial Guinea Form

Equatorial Guinea failed to qualify for the 2026 Fifa World Cup after a very average campaign. In October, they did beat Liberia in their final group game after losing to Tunisia in September.

Since the conclusion of the World Cup qualification round, Equatorial Guinea have played two friendly internationals. They beat Kenya 1-0 away and lost 2-0 at home to Madagascar in mid-November.
