Ghana Women Form

Ghana lost 4-2 on penalties against Morocco mid-week in their semi-final clash after the score had ended 1-1 after extra time.

Ghana were the first to score, taking the lead after 26 minutes of play to gain the upper hand over Morocco.

Ghana conceded ten minutes into the second half but could not find the winning goal as a penalty shootout decided the outcome.

Ghana had 41% possession and 17 shots in the game, with five attempts on target.

Before that result, Ghana lost 2-0 to South Africa, drew 1-1 against Mali and thrashed Tanzania 4-1 during the Women's Africa Cup of Nations group stages and then beat Algeria 4-2 on penalties in the quarter-finals.

Ghana have won two of their last five fixtures, including two losses and one draw. They scored six goals and conceded six at the back.

Ghana will be out to redeem themselves against South Africa in their WAFCON third-place playoff match after their missed chances in their previous outing. However, it will be tough going, as they lost to Banyana Banyana earlier in the competition.
