Mozambique have been impressive in their opening two AFCON fixtures which has left the door open to the round of 16.

In their opener, Mozambique lost 1-0 to Ivory Coast but despite the loss, showed signs of what they are capable of. They were sound at the back in particular.

The next game, against Gabon, was basically a must-win for both sides. Mozambique raced into a 2-0 lead before they were pegged back to 2-1 by half time. Faisal Bangal scored the opener while Geny Catamo added another from the spot.

In the 52nd minute, Diago Calila added a third and although Gabon pulled another back to make it 3-2, Mozambique held on for all three points.

Cameroon Form

Cameroon are looking to go deep in the tournament after recently failing to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Indomitable Lions began with a 1-0 victory over Gabon with a sixth minute goal by Etta Eyong. They had to come from a goal down against Ivory Coast to draw 1-1.

Cameroon were disappointing going forward in that game, managing just one shot on target in 90 minutes. They relied on an own goal to get the draw.
