The Brave Warriors lost 3–0 to Tunisia in October 2025 before suffering successive defeats against Comoros the following month, going down 1–0 and 4–0.

Their first match of 2026 ended in a 2–0 defeat against Kazakhstan in March.

Namibia then played Comoros again three days later, with the match finishing goalless before the Brave Warriors won the resulting penalty shootout.

Congo Form

Congo have also found wins difficult to come by in recent competitive matches.

The Red Devils lost 3–0 away to Tanzania before suffering another 3–0 defeat against Zambia. A 1–1 draw at home to Tanzania followed before Congo were beaten 3–1 by Niger.

Their most recent competitive match ended in a narrow 1–0 defeat away to Morocco.

Congo will be looking to make a better start to AFCON qualifying under returning coach Claude Le Roy.

Namibia: Collin Benjamin will be without Prins Tjiueza and Tuli Nashixua, who have both been ruled out through injury. David Ndeunyema is also unavailable due to injury, while defender Alex Mumbango misses the match because of a travel-document issue.

Congo: Claude Le Roy has named a 27-man squad for the opening qualifiers after returning for another spell in charge of Congo. His preparations have been limited, with several players only joining the squad on 20 and 21 September ahead of Thursday's match. New
