However, Sudan surprised everyone when they bounced back to beat Equatorial Guinea 1-0 in their last outing. That puts them right back in the hunt for qualification if they can avoid defeat here, although that 3-0 loss and subsequent goal difference could still prove costly.

Sudan defended well against Equatorial Guinea but offered little in attack. They relied on a 74-minute goal to secure the win after managing just one shot on target in the 90 minutes. They also only had 36% possession.

Burkina Faso Form

Burkina Faso started the Africa Cup of Nations with a win but not a convincing one. They came up against Equatorial Guinea who went a man down early on.

While dominant, Burkina Faso couldn’t find an opening and eventually they went 1-0 down in the 85th minute. Fortunately, two injury time goals secured the three points.

In their last match, Burkina Faso lost 1-0 to Algeria. It was a penalty that separated the two sides who looked very evenly matched throughout. However, the defeat does mean that Burkina Faso are under some pressure to win here.
